Healthcare Workforce Information Exchange
Redefining Workforce Technology for the Future of Healthcare
Over the next seven years, 55 percent of nurses will retire. Thirty-two million newly insured patients will enter the healthcare system by 2016. Every 10 seconds, another Baby Boomer turns 65, and two thirds of Baby Boomers have at least one chronic health condition. Are healthcare organizations ready for this challenge?
New challenges require new solutions. API Healthcare is offering innovative strategies to tap into the full potential of the healthcare talent pool by introducing the Healthcare Workforce Information Exchange (HwIE).
The HwIE facilitates the sharing of data between healthcare facilities, similar to the Health Information Exchange (HIE). While the HIE shares clinical data from an Electronic Health Record (EHR), the HwIE shares workforce data from an Electronic Employee Record (EER).
The Healthcare Workforce Information Exchange allows for effective talent development and utilization across the entire continuum of care, from hospitals and clinics to long term care facilities and home health agencies.
